Yard Sale Deals - 6/11/11

This week I found TONS of great deals! Of course, it's only a deal if you FEEL like it's a deal. To me, finding something specific that I've been looking for and paying much less than what it would cost in the store is a deal...and a thrill!

These items are for either myself or my husband.
 - 8x10 picture frame with colors that match the baby's room - $1
- decorative jars with cork lids - Retail Value: $5/each.  Tag Price: $2/each.  Price Paid:  3/$2
- portable radio w/CD player (an item my husband had been wanting)  -   $5
- worklight  - FREE!  (The guy couldn't remember what was wrong with it. Even if it never works, no money spent!)

For the Baby:
- pants, tank top, dress, 2 sweatshirts (1 not pictured) & 2 pairs of PJs  -  $.50/each
- shoes, size 7, worn once (hopefully will fit this fall)  -  $2.00
- more hard-back kid's books & Disney books to add to the collection  -  $.20 - $.80/each
- Not pictured are 2 sets of 'Megablocks' (think Legos for babies).  I bought 2 sets at 2 different yard sales and paid a total of $4.  Normally I wouldn't have paid this much for toys, BUT one yard sale was a benefit for cancer, so I felt bad negotiating.

This is why I LOVE yard-saling!  I needed a small piece of furniture to fit a tight space next to my rocking chair. The end table I was using was WAY too big.

This little table fits the space perfectly. I am able to put my magazines in the door, remotes & a box of tissues in the little cubby, and still have room on the top for...whatever!

- Pricetag at the yard sale:  $8
- Price paid:    $5

Yard Sale Tip:  Negotiate prices with the husbands. It's usually the wives that have set prices on household items so the husbands are just happy to get rid of it, and have cash in hand!

And what's that perched atop my new little cabinet? Why, it's my "Deal of the Day"!!!                            I have been looking for a French Press for a very long time.  This is a 4-cup capacity and looked like it had been used maybe once.  I paid $.50 for it!

  1. I have some of those glass jars with corks you can have. I paid alot more for them at the Grasshopper Shop. One of them is big, fat and round and can either stand up or tip slightly off-center. They are yours. Cost - Zero dollars!! As for those books, I think you'll find repeats when I make my delivery this summer!!! I have a small (side) table staged to go too. You'll have your house filled by the end of the summer..... if not the end of this month!! lol!
